THERE ARE NEARLY 2 BILLION MENSTRUATORS WORLDWIDE.
Consequently, periods have a significant impact on our lives and daily experiences, as well as the environment, with an average of 100 billion single-use menstrual products ending up in landfills globally each year, emitting around 245,000 tons of CO2 annually.
As menstruators ourselves, BLEED is our answer to fueling empathy and understanding around menstruation and a better way forward in addressing accessibility, equity, health and sustainability.
Our story follows MARY as she literally runs through time on a quest to find a tampon after her first menstrual period begins during her 7th grade math class. Her sprint spans decades of her menstruation, from age 12, into her early 20s, and eventually her mid-50s.
As an unforgettable, surreal, "silent" film, BLEED transcends language and has the potential to reach a global audience through evocative visuals that illustrate Mary’s urgent situation, one familiar to all menstruators.
